Started dabbling in the AAE Pro Max nearly a year ago. I work with vanes, especially shorter ones to find their limits in a 3 and 4 fletch configuration to see if they can stabilize a fixed blade head. Shockingly the Pro Max at only 1.7” long BUT 4.6” tall did just that! I feel the key to stabilize a fixed head the height needs to be as close to .5” as possible. The Pro Max must be right “on the edge” because my Iron Will solid single bevel lefts fly phenomenal even in a 3 fletch configuration out to 100 yards. I am also testing a 4 fletch set up for long range practice just to give me a little more scope clearance. I may just stick with the 4 fletch for that reason with only adding a mere 4.9 grains. I wish AAE would make a Pro Max Gen II or Max Stealth Gen II in this same shield cut, 2.25” long and .5” tall!! It would ROCK!! I feel the key is to keep it NO MORE than .5” in height to keep it as quiet as possible. I like the Max Hunter a lot but at .585” tall it’s just a touch too tall and louder than even a 4 fletch Pro Max set up. I love the height of my Max Stealth set up but I want something a little lighter. AAE let’s design a Gen II please!!
